Iron Mountain, global leader in innovative storage solutions, asset life-cycle management and data management, has once again expanded its operations in the United Kingdom, this time with the help of the comprehensive industrial racking supplier AR Racking. The company has opened a new warehouse in Kettering (United Kingdom) in response to the growing demand for its storage and logistics services by both new and existing customers.

In line with its global growth strategy, Iron Mountain is adding “around 1 million square feet of logistics space a year to its business in the United Kingdom” stated Phil Shepley, Vice-Chairman and Sales Manager of the company in the United Kingdom. The new warehouse in Kettering is one of the cornerstones for the growth of the global leader in data management hence its reliance on AR Racking, which has manufactured, designed and installed a storage solution that combines VNA and adjustable pallet racking, achieving a capacity for 54,000 positions.

With VNA pallet racking a space saving of up to 40% is generated increasing the storage capacity, while wide aisle pallet racking is a system that greatly facilitates the logistics operation, as access to the unit loads is direct and immediate. AR Racking's extensive experience in large storage projects, the quality of its racking, strict meeting of competitive delivery times and its engineering and development know-how were determining factors in Iron Mountain opting for the storage solutions leader based in Slough.

The new centre in Kettering is specifically designed so that Iron Mountain can offer its customers flexible and highly secure storage and fulfilment options in an increasingly demanding supply chain. Iron Mountain, with a history dating back more than 70 years, is the global leader in chain of custody and information management services and has the trust of more than 225,000 organisations worldwide, including 95% of the companies on the Fortune 1000 list.
