Conforama relies on AR Racking to equip its new 3,500 m2 warehouse
AR Racking has equipped Conforama’s new warehouse. Conforama is a European firm specializing in furniture, appliances, kitchens and decoration. With an area of 3,500 m2, the warehouse is in the Madrid town of Majadahonda, in front of the Gran Plaza 2 shopping centre.
AR Racking has installed an Adjustable pallet racking AR PAL system, a system designed to store palletized cargo in a mechanical way using forklifts that access goods through aisles that run parallel to the racks. It is an efficient and resistant solution for heavy loads.
“We as a group are growing strongly, with a commercial presence in 8 countries. Last year we reinforced our presence in the Iberian Peninsula: Spain and Portugal with the opening of 6 new centres and therefore we needed this new warehouse could store the wide variety of products that Conforama has, with different volumes and weights", explains Xavier Murillo, Head of Transportation at Conforama. He adds: "the adjustable pallet racking system gives us immediate access to the references and has allowed us to make the most of the 3,500 m2 of warehouse". The installed system has provided 1,415 storage positions.
"For Conforama, we have installed an area with extendable decks for manual picking, and the levels near the ground have mesh or chipboard panels embedded in the beams using TM55 crossbars," says Joan Cerrato, Project Manager in AR Racking. In addition to quickly locating each pallet, the AR PAL system saves time in the handling of goods and maintains rigorous control over the stored references.
